Built for lines that can’t stop

Packaging lines run around the clock and tolerate no downtime. Our custom cutting blades for packaging and converting are made to your exact spec — slitter knives for film and foil, trim and rewinder blades for printing, and cutters for carton and pouch lines. We can reverse engineer the blade from your worn sample when the drawing is gone.

Why buyers in Packaging & Converting choose HIBO

  • Free sample — a working blade on your machine before you commit to 100 pcs.
  • 24-hour quote — from the day we receive your drawing.
  • 30-day lead — vs. the 35–45 days peers quote.
  • Reverse-engineer — send the worn blade, get the drawing and a sample.

Typical applications

Flexible film and foil slitting, carton and corrugated cutting, tape and label trimming, and pouch and bag converting.

What matters on a packaging line

Packaging lines run fast and change over often. A blade that is perfect at one web width has to hold the same cut when the job changes to a different film, a different thickness and a different speed twenty minutes later. Consistency across changeovers matters more than peak edge life.

The material mix is also wide: BOPP and PET film, metallised web, aluminium foil, paper, board, tape and label stock. Each one asks something different of the edge geometry.

How a packaging blade fails — and what it tells you

  • Ragged or stretched cut on film. The edge is dull, or the blade is crushing rather than shearing — check clearance against film thickness.
  • Cut drifts after a changeover. The blade is fine; the setup is not. Re-check seating and side load before changing blades.
  • Chipping on board and carton. Impact from board dust, staples or a misaligned anvil.
  • Adhesive build-up on tape and label knives. Clean and change geometry, not material — adhesive welds to any steel.

Blades we supply for packaging and converting

  • Slitting and score-cut knives — film, foil and metallised web.
  • Cross-cut and rotary shear blades — pouch, bag and flow-wrap machines.
  • Carton and corrugated trim knives — board converting.
  • Tape and label cutting blades — including serrated and easy-open profiles.

Packaging blades — common questions

Can one blade handle several film types?

Usually yes, within a family — but the clearance has to be set per job. The blade geometry can be generous enough to cover BOPP through PET; the machine setting cannot.

My blade cuts well cold and badly once the line is hot.

That is thermal growth, not edge wear. The blade and anvil expand at different rates; re-check clearance at running temperature rather than at start-up.

Can you supply small quantities for trials?

Yes — that is what the free sample is for. One blade, on your machine, before you commit to a production quantity.

Two sets we ship most often: the air scissors and cutter heads and the mask machine blade range.
