What the geometry has to get right

Medical and pharma cutting carries a constraint most industrial blades do not: the blade has to be documented. Material traceability, a cleanable profile and a repeatable edge are part of the specification, not extras.

Where product contacts the blade, surface finish and the absence of crevices matter as much as sharpness — residue left on a blade is a validation problem, not a maintenance one.

Where a medical blade fails

• Edge dulls faster than expected. Usually the material, not the process — check what is actually being cut.
• Residue trapped at a corner or hole. Geometry; a cleanable profile solves it.
• Inconsistent cut across a batch. Batch consistency of the edge, which has to be agreed and checked up front.
• Corrosion after cleaning. Grade or passivation.

How we match an existing blade

Send the worn blade and the drawing if you have one. We record profile, edge form and fixing pattern, and confirm the material grade with its mill certificate. If you need a particular standard or test report, tell us before ordering and we will confirm whether we can meet it.
