Custom Shear & Guillotine Blades

Straight shear blades made to your drawing or sample for sheet, plate, and strip cutting. D2, SKD11, HSS, or carbide, ground to your edge and clearance spec.

Pneumatic shear blades — shearing action, at air speed.

Shear & guillotine blades built to your spec

Our custom shear and guillotine blades are made to your exact length, thickness, bevel angle, and shear clearance. Whether you cut stainless sheet, aluminium plate, or rubber and plastic slab, we match the edge geometry your shear needs — and we can reverse engineer the blade from your worn sample if the drawing is gone.

Materials we cut from

  • D2 / SKD11 — high-wear tool steel for long production runs.
  • HSS — heat-resistant edges for higher surface speeds.
  • Stainless — food- and pharma-grade lines.
  • Solid carbide — maximum edge life on abrasive materials.

Why buyers switch their blades to HIBO

Free sample (you cover freight), a 24-hour quote, and a 30-day production lead — versus the 35–45 days most overseas suppliers quote. For lines that can’t afford downtime, a proven sample beats a gamble on 100 blades.

Typical applications

Metal fabrication and plate shearing, rubber and plastic slab cutting, paper and cardboard guillotines, and foil and film sheet trimming. If your line runs a straight shear, we supply the industrial cutting blade for it.

What the geometry has to get right

A guillotine cuts by passing one edge past another with a controlled clearance. Blade angle, clearance and hold-down work together: too little clearance and the edges rub, too much and the material is bent rather than sheared.

On long guillotine blades the edge has to stay parallel to the bed over its full length, because cut quality at the ends is where problems show first.

Where a shear blade fails

  • Material bent rather than cut. Clearance too wide, or hold-down pressure too low.
  • Rubbing marks along the blade face. Clearance too tight.
  • Good in the middle, poor at the ends. Blade bow or bed wear.
  • Edge chipping. Impact, or material harder than expected.

How we match an existing shear blade

Send the worn blade. We measure length, thickness, edge angle and mounting pattern, and ask about the material and thickness being cut — clearance is agreed from those, not from the drawing alone.

Shear blade questions

Can you re-grind my existing blade?

We do not run a regrinding service. What we can do is match the geometry from the worn blade so a new one drops in.

Do you supply the full set for a guillotine?

Yes — tell us which positions you need and send the worn parts.

Same shear principle, different scale: the pneumatic air scissors cutter heads use paired blades like these — head lengths and jaw openings are listed there.
