Custom Granulator & Pelletizer Knives
Size-reduction knives made to your drawing or sample for plastic, rubber, and polymer recycling. D2, SKD11, or carbide, to your profile and edge spec.
Granulator & pelletizer knives built to your spec
Our custom granulator and pelletizer knives are made to your exact profile, mounting, and edge geometry. Whether you run PET, PE, rubber, or cable, we match the knife your reclaim line needs — and we can reverse engineer the knife from your worn sample if the drawing is gone.
Materials we cut from
- D2 / SKD11 — high-wear tool steel for long production runs.
- HSS — heat-resistant edges for higher surface speeds.
- Stainless — food- and pharma-grade lines.
- Solid carbide — maximum edge life on abrasive materials.
Why buyers switch their knives to HIBO
Free sample (you cover freight), a 24-hour quote, and a 30-day production lead — versus the 35–45 days most overseas suppliers quote.
Typical applications
Plastic film and bottle recycling, rubber and tyre granulation, cable and wire reclaim, and pelletizing of compounds. If your line reduces material, we supply the industrial cutting blade for it.
What the geometry has to get right
Granulator knives only work as a set. A rotor knife is defined by its relationship to the bed knife and the screen: the cutting gap, the rotor it mounts on, and the balance of the rotor once every knife is fitted. A single knife made perfectly to its own drawing can still cut badly if the set is mixed.
On pelletizers the constraint is different: the knife runs against a die face, so flatness and the angle of approach decide whether pellets are cut cleanly or torn.
Where granulator and pelletizer knives fail
- Random chips along the edge. Contamination in the feedstock — screen or metal-detect upstream.
- Even wear across the edge, quickly. Abrasive filler. Go harder.
- Uneven wear on one knife in the set. Rotor balance or seating, not the steel.
- Pellets torn rather than cut. Die-face contact angle or knife flatness.
How we match an existing set
Send the full set, not one knife. We measure each position, note the wear pattern per position, and make them as a matched set with position marking. If one knife failed while the rest are fine, tell us which position — the pattern often explains the cause.
Granulator knife questions
Why do you ask for the whole set?
Because the rotor is balanced as an assembly and the cutting gap is set by the set. Matching one knife in isolation is how a set ends up cutting unevenly.
Can you match a knife by part number only?
Sometimes, if the number maps to a known drawing. Otherwise we need the worn part or a measured drawing.
